As part of the series „Performing Architecture“ the German Pavillion presented the art installation „Garden State“ on Biennale di Venezia 2014. Our contribution to this beautiful project was an elaborated sonic environment, creating auditory visions of an utopian garden.
Emphasizing the sensation of wide open and ever transforming landscapes, the perception of the exhibition space changes radically. With its vivid and detailed soundscapes, the „Garden State Soundtrack“ invites people to stay, chat and listen. It is a 14 hour composition for 32 speakers consisting mainly of original sounds collected during travels through South-America, Southeast-Asia, Europe and Africa.
